Dr. Somenath Dey have joined West Bengal Education Service on 30.11.2006 at Krishnagar Government College, Krishnagar, Nadia. Then he transferred to Durgapur Government College, Durgapur and served there upto 06.05.2013. Then he transferred to Darjeeling Government College, Darjeeling and served there upto 25.09.2019.

On 26.09.2019 he joined at Government General Degree College at Manbazar II and he is the founder of the Zoology department of this college.

We have facilities to teach Zoology Honours, Major, and Minor courses alongwith well equipped laboratory and library facilities.

Basic research is conducted here based mainly on field studies and some basic experiments on cytology, haematology and histology. In near future we will also start others laboratory related studies.

Laboratory is well equipped with nearly all the required instruments, skeletons, fossils, permanent slides and museum specimens. Experiments on basic cytology, haematology, and histology can be done here. All the necessary reagents and glasswares are available in the laboratory.

Dr. Somenath Dey have published 23 research papers at different national and international journals. He have presented 18 research papers at different national and international seminars / conferences. He is the author of 5 books which are published by international publisher.
