The Government General Degree College, Manbazar-II, Purulia, is the first and, so far, the only Government General Degree College of the Purulia district, West Bengal. Its journey began in the year 2015 under the purview of the Director of Public Instruction, Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal. The college is affiliated with Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia, and offers several undergraduate courses. The college was renamed as Chunaram Gobinda Memorial Government College with effect from 24/08/2023, vide Memo No. 921-Edn(A)/10M-29/23.
